Victorian Jazz Club

Promoting live jazz in the community.

The Victorian Jazz Club, founded in 1968, has been catering for jazz lovers for the past 47 years and now boasts over 500 members.

While our core interest is trad jazz, we have begun to expand into contemporary jazz and swing which has broadened our membership and packed our dance floor.

We host regular live jazz performances at two venues: the Clayton RSL and the East Malvern RSL, and occasionally at other venues as well. Our regular events are on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Saturday nights of every month and on the 3rd Wednesday during the day at Clayton and one Wednesday night a month at East Malvern. We also host several other special functions during the year.

See our Venues page for a map or our Events page for details about the events.

The Committee of the Victorian Jazz Club is very sad to inform the jazz community that former Committee member Doreen Fabrikant and widow of their late President Maurie passed quietly away on Tuesday 12th September, surrounded by her loving family. She had been battling health issues since returning from a holiday to Darwin in early August.

Her bright bubbling personality will be missed at VJC functions, and our sincere condolences go to her children Ruth, Susie and Simon and their families.

A memorial Service to celebrate the life of the late Doreen Fabrikant will be held on:

Sunday 24th September 2017, 10.30am to 12.30pm
Bunorong Memorial Park,
Frankston/Dandeong Road,
Dandenong South
