Victorian Jazz Club

Promoting live jazz in the community.

The Victorian Jazz Club, founded in 1968, has been catering for jazz lovers for the past 47 years and now boasts over 500 members.

While our core interest is trad jazz, we have begun to expand into contemporary jazz and swing which has broadened our membership and packed our dance floor.

We host regular live jazz performances at our current home: the Clayton RSL, and occasionally at other venues as well. Our regular events are on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Saturday nights of every month and on the 3rd Wednesday during the day. We also host several other special functions during the year.

Announcing the passing of Graeme Harvey

Members of the VJC were very saddened by the announcement on Saturday night last of the sudden passing of regular attendee Graeme Harvey on Friday 13th May. Graeme and his wife Elizabeth were regulars on table 22 on Saturday nights at Clayton, and often seen on the dance floor.
Graeme’s presence will be sadly missed in the jazz fraternity, and our heartfelt condolences go out to Elizabeth and her sons at this sad time. A minutes reflection was observed on Saturday night before the commencement of the gig.
